Hemet High School teaches the Common Core State Standards in our Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Advanced Algebra 2 with Trig courses. The Common Core State Standards are rigorous and require in-depth content knowledge. Students must be able to solve math problems and JUSTIFY their answers. There are also more real-world application problems. For more information, go to our LINKS page or click on the Common Core PDF below.
In order to GRADUATE from Hemet Hiigh, students must PASS 30 CREDITS of mathematics in grades 9-12, pass Algebra 1 and Geometry, and be enrolled in a standards-based mathematics course in grades 9-11. Students may be placed in an additional math course depending on their results of their California Standardized test scores, multiple assessments, and/or grades. The University of California and California State University schools require 3 years of advanced math for admission. Please see Hemet High's Course Catalog for further details.
