Hemet Girls Soccer Headed For CIF Championship

With a tremendous defensive effort, punctuated with some very hard, physical play from the Tigers, they lady Bulldogs found the right time to strike.  At the 32:31 minute of the first half, Rosie Robinson crossed over a pass to Tristan Self who evenly took the ball down the right side and hit a perfect shot just out of the reach of the goalie as the ball found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

With South Pasadena pressing the remaining half and having about five shots on goal, the Bulldog speed kicked in with the ball traveling up the left side of the field where again Rosie Robinson pushed the ball through two defenders and let Krista Haddock work from there.  Krista had a much larger defender hounding her almost into the net where she calmly struck from about 5 yards out with her right foot, Bulldogs up 2-0 at half.

In the second half  it was a defensive battle.  The Tigers did get one score in off a corner kick later in the half putting some pressure on the Bulldogs to keep their lead.  As the game got more physical, the ladies were up for the challenge and showed how bad they wanted it.  With Mackenzie Boyd going out with a knee to the ribs and Taylor Wolever exiting with a head butt, the rest of the team kept the ball moving and claimed a first ever CIF Finals contest.

CIF game time and location should be available by Wednesday.  Good Luck Bulldogs!!!
