At 10:18 students and staff did a “Drop, Cover, and Hold for sixty seconds. This event was shared by thousands of students, schools and business throughout the state. Over 2,400 students were evacuated to an alternative safety zone where all students and staff were accounted for.
Many students made the most of sitting in the stadium bleachers by stomping their feet and clapping their hands to the “We Will Rock You” song, tried many times to get the “Wave” going, and sang and acted out a skit of “Singing In The Rain”.
The fire department was impressed that so many students and staff made the evacuation in just under 15 minutes. Way to go Hemet High.
