Hemet Loses 1st round CIF basketball game.

After jumping out to a 10 point plus lead in the first two quarters, the Bulldogs could not hold off the Glendora Titans in a CIF first round basketball game held at the Ted Smith Sr. Gym Friday night.

With many quick steals and points off transition baskets, the Bulldogs pressure defense made a difference in the first half.  The second half was a different story as the Titans started to hit their stride by clicking on the three point shot witteling the score down to two point on a made three pointer, and then taking the lead on an and-one possession.

The Bulldogs struggled in the third quarter and only scored 9 points to 17 for the Titans as the tide turned.  With fouls piling up on Hemet, soon Glendora was in the one and one and two free throws for much of the second half.  The fouls were heavy against the Bulldogs and they didn’t know what would be called and what wouldn’t, but the three point shooting by Glendora was the difference in the game.

This ends one of the most successful seasons for Hemet in many years, finishing 17-8 and taking 2nd place in the Mountain Pass League.

Following the game the HHS Varsity Cheer also put on a routine to support our athletes.
