The 2013 HUSD Business Education Summit
Thursday, 3/21/13
Theater 8:30 10:30 a.m.
All Day Gym
This year Hemet High School is excited to host this event in the new 500 seat Ron Murray Performing Arts Complex. While the businesses are setting up in the gym, the students' day starts with the AF JrROTC presenting colors, followed by this year's Keynote Speaker Scott Greenberg from Jump Start Performance Programs. Scott has surprised, impressed and inspired students and business leaders with his presentation.
Following Mr. Greenberg's presentation, the students walk to the gym where they will attend four round table sessions. The round table sessions consist of one business presenter to 8-10 students for 20 minute presentations with Q&A. There will be four sessions of presentations and a 15 minute open table visitation session for students to return to businesses of interest. The businesses come prepared to discuss entry level jobs, internships and skills required for the jobs. The students come dressed for success with knowledge from a Work Readiness packet.
An engaging event, now in its 8th year, that brings together high school students and business partners in the San Jacinto Hemet Valley. The purpose of the event is to provide information to 200 of our valley students about industries of interest to them and to expose local businesses to future employees.
The Education Business Summit is impressive and demonstrates the cooperative efforts of the high schools: Hemet High, West Valley, Tahquitz, Hamilton, San Jacinto, Alessandro, Mountain View, California Family Life Center, Helen Hunt Jackson, other HUSD Departments: Transportation , Human Resources and Nutrition , Counseling and of course, the Valley Businesses .
After lunch the students head to the busses for the trip back to their home schools. This event keeps the connection between business and education communities strong. This year the Hemet Education Business Summit occurs on Thursday, March 21st with check-infrom 8:30-9:20, Welcoming and Keynote at 9:30 and Industry Sessions starting at 10:55.
