Bulldogs awaken to sweep Western in Volleyball

Like a sleeping dog, the boys volleyball team took it’s time waking up during their first round CIF match when hosting Western of Anaheim.  The guys got off to a slow start falling behind early but started to wake up some and tied the first game at 8 and again at 10, but after that, the Bulldogs were ready to play.  Going on a 7-1 run, the boys started to hit their stride and began to relax by winning 25-16.

In the second game the Dogs were in a full run as Jacob Hill began to crush his serves, the defense picked up, the outsides, middles, and opposites began to put the ball down with force as the Bulldogs built an early 12-4 lead on their way to a 25-11 victory.

Game three, like all good dogs, they took a nap.  While fiddling with the lineup and getting everyone a little CIF action, the team found some of the rotations interesting and the guys dropped game three 20-25.

Wanting to put an end to it, and not having the games go to five, the boys regrouped and jumped out in game four 7-3 and cruised on to an easy 25-18 win while still getting everyone a little playing time.

With their first round of CIF done, the Bulldogs wait to see who they will play next, whether they travel or stay at home.  They guys will have to play a little strong each and every game if they want to realize their goal and potential of getting into the finals.
