The Academic Decathlon competition consists of seven tests of academic strength and three communication skills events. Each test and demonstration has a maximum value of 1,000 points. The categories include Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science, and Speech. The culminating event is the Super Quiz.
