Hemet High Wins Academic Decathlon

The Academic Decathlon competition consists of seven tests of academic strength and three communication skills events.  Each test and demonstration has a maximum value of 1,000 points.  The categories include Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science, and Speech.  The culminating event is the Super Quiz.

The Hemet High School Academic Decathlon competed in the 31st Riverside County Decathlon on Saturday, February 1, 2014 and won the title after finishing runner-up for the past few years.  More news to come but the scores were believed to have been razor thin as the results were tallied with Hemet coming out on top by about 500 points out of 46,000 +/-.

 

Hemet High also won the Super Quiz from the afternoon testing session.  There were three levels of teams, Varsity, Scholastic, and Honors.
